The Petabite 14 Day Cat Acceptance Promise.
Cassava may be new to your home. Trying it should not feel like a risk.
Follow our gradual 14 day transition guide. If your cat genuinely will not use Petabite litter, we will refund the amount paid for your household’s first eligible Petabite litter order, including any delivery charge.
No return required. Your cat gets the final say.
Confidence belongs in the first order.
Cassava cat litter is still unfamiliar to many Australian households.
You may be wondering how it will perform, how it will feel beneath your cat’s paws, or whether your cat will accept it at all. We understand the hesitation.
What we have seen so far has given us confidence in how cats respond to Petabite. But every cat has their own habits, preferences and pace.
The Cat Acceptance Promise gives you time to introduce Petabite litter properly, without carrying the risk alone.
One promise. Four clear steps.
Your 14 day transition begins on delivery. If the switch does not work, submit your claim within 21 days of delivery.
Choose your litter
Purchase any Petabite cat litter directly from Petabite. The promise applies to your household’s first Petabite litter order.
Switch gradually
Follow the transition ratios below and give your cat up to 14 days to adjust. Keep their tray, location and cleaning routine familiar.
Tell us if it does not work
If your cat still refuses Petabite, email the required information within 21 days of delivery. Opened and unopened litter can stay with you.
Receive your refund
Allow up to 3 business days for review. Once approved, we will email confirmation and refund the eligible litter and any delivery charge paid.
If your cat will not make the switch, your first eligible order is on us.
Every Petabite cat litter is included. The promise covers your household’s first Petabite litter order, regardless of the litter type or available size.
It includes the amount actually paid for the litter and any delivery charge paid.
Familiar first. Petabite, gradually.
Keep everything else the same. Use the same tray, in the same location, with the same cleaning routine. Avoid changing the tray or adding a new deodoriser during the transition.
75% familiar
25% Petabite
Add a small amount of Petabite to the litter your cat already uses. Mix evenly while maintaining the normal litter depth. Sniffing, circling and investigating are normal.
50% familiar
50% Petabite
If your cat is using the tray normally, increase Petabite to approximately half. Continue your normal scooping routine and keep the tray clean.
25% familiar
75% Petabite
Reduce the familiar litter to approximately one quarter. If your cat becomes hesitant, return to the previous ratio and hold it for another day or two.
100% Petabite
Once your cat is using the tray confidently, complete the transition. Some cats adjust in a few days. Others need the full period. Let your cat set the pace.
When two litters do not mix well
Place a second standard tray containing Petabite beside the existing tray. This lets your cat investigate Petabite while keeping their familiar tray available.
When introducing a Petabite litter intended for an automatic litter box, monitor every cycle during the mixed stage. If the mixture does not cycle cleanly, stop using the mixture and use the second tray method. Always follow the fill level and operating instructions provided by the machine manufacturer.
Never force the transition.
A little investigation is normal. Complete refusal is different.
Slow down or return to the previous ratio if your cat repeatedly approaches the tray but will not enter, stops using the tray, or begins toileting elsewhere.
If your cat completely refuses the tray, restore their familiar litter immediately. You do not need to force your cat through the entire 14 day transition to remain eligible.
Persistent toileting changes can have behavioural or medical causes. Speak with your veterinarian if the problem continues after familiar litter has been restored.
If your cat strains, vocalises while attempting to urinate, repeatedly enters the tray without passing urine, or appears unable to urinate, seek urgent veterinary care.
A complete, practical refund.
There is no return requirement. There is no need to move heavy litter back through the freight network.
What we refund
The amount actually paid for eligible Petabite litter in your household’s first Petabite litter order, plus any delivery charge paid. If a discount was applied, the refund reflects the amount paid after the discount.
What stays with you
Opened and unopened litter. If you would prefer to return unopened packs, tell us when submitting your claim. Do not send anything unless arrangements have been agreed with us in writing.
How we pay it
The refund is issued to the original payment method. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take up to 10 business days to appear after it has been issued.
Subscriptions
The promise covers the first delivery of a new subscription, not renewals. If approved, future deliveries will be cancelled unless you ask us to keep the subscription active.
